This panorama, taken by Christopher Gjevre, captures the excitement of college football as the Michigan Wolverines and the Virginia Tech Hokies go head-to-head during the 78th Annual Allstate Sugar Bowl Classic in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was a first time match-up between the two teams and, in the end, the University of Michigan Wolverines proved themselves elite with a victory over the Hokies with a final score of Michigan 23, Virginia Tech 20. This was the Wolverines' second appearance and first win at the Sugar Bowl. The first Sugar Bowl was played in 1935 and was hosted at Tulane Stadium, until it moved to its current location in 1976.
